Photo Grant Available!!!!!! Contest Too!!!!
The W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography is present annually to a photographer who follows W. Eugene Smith's tradition of documentary photography. The grant is for $30,000, plus $5,000 to be awarded at the discretion of the jury, for an ongoing journalistic photo project.
The grant has been awarded since 1980. Recent winners include Pep Bonet (2005), Stanley Greene (2004) and Trent Parke (2003).
The deadline to apply for the grant is July 15. Applicants submit up to 40 images, and there is no application fee. More information and an application is available at www.smithfund.org. The grant winner is announced in October.
The "What I Did on My Summer Vacation" Photo Contest Co-Sponsored by Tamron and Photo Talk Radio is going on now.
