We are coming into the time of year when galleries have their final show of the summer going up, and everyone should be out shooting.

They will both be addressed on the site.

One of the most prestigious photographic documentary awards is the POYi awards, now in it's 67th year. Exhibit is currently up at the Annenberg Space for Photography.
How about some Fireworks shooting tips? (The photos, not the exploding parts.)
Yes, you can rotate the dial on your P&S to fireworks but get a little deeper this year.
We'll be putting some new gear vid up by weeks end, plus a review of the latest exhibit at the Getty, "Engaged Observers: Documentary Photography since the Sixties"
A question we have always asked when we see the documentary photography of the last century is where is the best venue to see this work?
In a news publication?
A gallery?
In a book?
Hanging on the wall in your home?
The images range from the informative to the brutal and everything in between.
where are you most comfortable viewing these photographs?

loewpro And the item we have for you this week, is an awesome camera bag from Lowepro, the CompuPrimus. It does sound a bit like a transformer but actually, this is a great bag for the anyone taking a ton of gear on their back.
Add in the very cool laptop sleeve with sunshade and you are ready to hit the trail.
Seriously, this company built it's rep on supplying the outdoor photographer and they have never let up on that heritage.

Please note that due to the weight and size of this item, it is only available for subscribers in the US, due to shipping costs

With that said, here is how you can get the one we have, put squarely on your back. (for our friends outside of the US, we will send another cool photo item. So 2 winners this week: one in the US and 1 randomly chosen from everywhere else)
