It is very good,indeed.
We are now in Paris getting ready to be immersed in the world class photography art fair, Paris-Photo. Japan is the country being honored this year, so the dealers will be bringing out their best, and some not before seen, work from the finest Japanese photographers.

With seminars, book signings, 107 exhibitors from 19 countries, seminars, a special BMW prize, it should be a full week of photo goodness.

But before we got here, this past week had some incredible news, starting with the election of President Elect Barak Obama.

We give you some of our photos from a celebration and a link to a photographer who has covered his campaign from the beginning.
More gear video with ThinkTank Photo's latest goods, and a preview of the Leica S2, 37.5 megapixel camera.
And one of our favorites, artist Alec Soth, talks to you about process.
Plus a word from the SmogRanch, and our friend Dan Milnor with a few words about point and shoot cameras. He warns you that it may not be pretty.

leiter early color The special item for you this week is kind of a Part 2. This is the Saul Leiter - Early Color book, which actually has some of the photographs we referenced in the article we wrote a few weeks back. ThanksSteidl, for reprinting this. They have been doing an incredible job of the high end printing of excellent photo books.

Here's how we play:
First hit "Reply" Then:
1. Delete the main body of this email (saving server space).
2. Put the words Early Color, in the subject line.
3 Add a shipping address
4. Make sure you followed all of the above directions.
5. Hit send.

One of you will be able to add this book to your collection, for no cost, if you are reply # 44.
And even if you don't get this from us, we highly recommend putting it on your gift list. Yep, your gift list, in case anyone's asking

No puzzles to solve, no mazes to work through, no time to beat on a Rubiks cube.
Although that would be pretty cool. Impossible, but cool.
This is just our way of saying thanks for your support, and letting us know what you like best.
Need us to send that list to relatives for the holidays? Or would you prefer those 3 pair of socks?

As you're reading this, the first press day for Paris-Photo has begun, so we will bring you the latest as we see it.

Next week, an Annie Leibowitz item for the weekly special.

And we thank you for your continued support.

Cheers!
