ANNOUNCEMENT: FLYP Seeks Applicants for Downtown Academy!

Fresno?s Leading Young Professionals (FLYP), in partnership with the City
of Fresno, is launching the inaugural 2010-2011 class for the Downtown
Academy this May. If you haven?t yet applied to participate, please do so
soon! We are still accepting applications at www.flypinfo.com.

The Downtown Academy will connect senior-level business, government and
community leaders with 15-24 forward-thinking, Fresno-based professionals
to explore the question, ?How can we transform Downtown Fresno into a
vibrant place where people can live, work and play??

Those selected will meet as a class once a month, for ten months, to
participate in the transformation taking place in Downtown Fresno. The
class experience is designed to feel like a backstage tour of Downtown
Fresno. We will literally take a behind-the-scenes tour of different areas
and buildings in Downtown Fresno, meet with people who own businesses and
live downtown, and discover opportunities to make Downtown Fresno a vibrant
place.

FLYP developed the Downtown Academy coursework in close partnership with
Craig Scharton, who will be the class instructor. Craig currently serves
as the Director of the City of Fresno?s Downtown & Community Revitalization
Department and is a professor of Urban Entrepreneurship at CSU Fresno.
Applications are currently being accepted online and must be completed by
Wednesday, May 12 at 5pm.

If you are curious about Downtown Fresno, have never been there, try to
avoid it at any cost, or love it and want to know more, apply today at
www.flypinfo.com and click on the Downtown Academy logo on our front page.

If you have questions or want additional info, please contact Downtown
Academy co-founder Timothy Sudiacal at (559) 492-8458 or send an email to
professionaldev@flypinfo.com. Or follow/tweet us via @FLYPinfo or
@FLYPDwntwnAcdmy

FLYP would like to thank its sponsors, Club One Casino and Granville
Homes, for their generous support and contributions to this project. We
also want to say thank you to all the people who have volunteered countless
hours to making this a fun and worthwhile project.
