Job Summary

The Photo Editor works under the direction of the Collections Art Director of Creative Content to recruit talent for Jupiter products, reviewing and editing images for Jupiter, as well as conducting industry research to identify new potential contributors.



Primary Responsibilities

Maintain Jupiter standards of excellence and build on the Jupiter collections.
Maintain a consistent and aggressive review and recruitment program for stock photographers.
Edit analog material for collections.
Review and edit digital image submissions to ensure proper scan quality, size and color balance.
Review all caption data provided by contributor for accuracy and completeness.
Prepare retouch, keywording notes for all edited submissions.
Coordinate and prepare all submissions for proper captioning and shipment to scanners.
Support supplier’s submission reviews and edits where needed.
Maintain a detailed database showing all submissions reviewed, edited and handled.
Insure that Jupiter product philosophy is maintained in a manner that supports both customer needs and corporate objectives. Establish and maintain written guidelines, procedures and policies.
Provide Marketing Managers with appropriate input to insure that all promotional materials represent current features and styles and that the materials support the product philosophy statements. Provide final review for accuracy of these factors in all of the product promotional materials where needed.
Provide monthly submission, editing, recruiting and research reports to the Director of Creative Content.


Secondary Responsibilities

Assist the Development of yearly objectives and goals.
Assist the Creative Content Director and Content Manager with special tasks.
Support Jupiter Images Trade Show presentations and travel as needed.


Qualifications

At least 3 –5 years experience editing stock photography.
Above average awareness of current stock industry players and positions.
High-level proficiency in analog and digital photography production.


Job Requirements/Education/Certifications

Be expert with Photoshop and functional with Portfolio, Digital Editing programs and Word/Excel.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to demonstrate leadership in creative and talent areas.
Ability to maintain relevant databases.
Strong knowledge of Copyright laws required.
Must have organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
