Hi Members

Just a quickie — pretty as a postcard but BIG landscape pictures wanted of the rugged coastline round Fraserburgh, please — that's Banff to Peterhead, effectively.

Let's hope the sun is shining this weekend. They're wanted Monday morning.

Upload data:
1. DEADLINE: Monday 22nd October, 09:00 GMT
2. FILESIZE: 300dpi, colour/b&w. Pixel dimensions min. 3500 x 5000, big 24MB+ files
3. CODE KEYWORD: FRAZZO (input this among all your other apposite keywords describing the image in full and NEVER use the Code Keyword as your only keyword.)
4. CATEGORISE UNDER: Nature> Coastline

And remember:
A) The only way you can make your pictures available for consideration by the buyers in any Picture Call is to upload them to the fotoLibra site ...
B) ... and to include the special Code Keyword among your other keywords.
C) Please do not mark these images as Royalty Free
D) Do not send them to me as there is nothing I can do with them — my opinion would be highly subjective and probably not helpful.
E) Please also make sure that they always match or exceed the requested resolutions and/or file sizes.

NEW request!!!!!!

Hi Members,This is a bit of a rag-bag and catch-up.Firstly, following up my Picture Call of 2007-05-30 Rare Wildlife, do NOT go and shoot a hen harrier on my behalf. Of course neither we nor the prestigious magazine concerned are suggesting you go and shoot these birds — it's hard enough even to spot them in the wild — and I doubt that any of our photographers would have ever considered that that was part of the brief. Unfortunately, some unscrupulous people, often gamekeepers, have killed birds of prey to protect the birds they are rearing to be shot for sport. It is possible therefore that a photographer may have taken an image of such an event in order to forward it to the relevant authorities; that same image would also be of value to the wildlife magazine. So please don’t worry, as I know some of you have been. The magazine also wants an Amur leopard IN THE WILD, not curled up having a cup of tea with the zookeeper.Secondly, this is very short notice, but in your archives you may have just what this researcher is looking for: beautiful, bright & sunny images of very high quality that really capture London In Summer, possibly with people enjoying themselves in the sunshine. This is for the front cover of another prestigious magazine — National Geographic (Russian edition). A4+ size, Portrait format only, colour, Code Keyword: VOSLON; needed by 1600 GMT Friday 1st June.Thirdly we asked for a photo of a diving board in stop motion, buried among the computer screen requests in Software Diving on 2007-05-28. We still haven’t got a suitable picture, and the deadline for this has been extended to Monday June 4th, so down to the pool this weekend please. This is what they want it to look like. You can read full details about previous Picture Calls by clicking on RSS Feeds on the fotoLibra Home Page. Please remember:A) The only way you can make your pictures available for consideration by the buyers in any Picture Call is to upload them to the fotoLibra site ...B) ... and to include the special Code Keyword among your other keywords.C) Please do not mark these images as Royalty FreeD) Do not send them to me as there is nothing I can do with them — my opinion would be highly subjective and probably not helpful.E) Please also make sure that they always match or exceed the requested resolutions and/or file sizes.Kind regardsJacqui Norman

Image Editing ... take a Look!

Photographers are welcoming some major changes in the way Getty Images handles its stock photography workflow – changes designed to decrease the role of art directors and turn more editing over to the photographers.More of Getty's workflow is moving online, and the company is planning to introduce a new portal for uploading images later this year. The changes adopt some of the same workflow techniques favored by micropayment stock sites, including Getty-owned iStockPhoto. Some Getty contributors will no longer be assigned a specific art director, but will be expected to self-edit their own work and submit it online in high-resolution format. In many cases, further editing will be done by the first available Getty editor. This will speed the process of getting images from the photographer into the Getty system. At the same time, photographers will have access to new editing guidelines and Getty's creative research reports, intelligence that previously was available only to art directors.
